Type Of Anaesthesia

At Leeds Private Hospital, we perform rhinoplasty under general anaesthesia. After the procedure, as you regain consciousness and the effects of the anaesthesia fade, you may experience some discomfort. To manage this, you will be given pain relief medication, which can be prescribed before you leave or over-the-counter. It’s common to need this medication for a few days following the surgery.

Aftercare Requirements

For the next few weeks, your nose may feel quite sensitive, and it’s important to avoid touching, blowing, or bumping it to ensure proper healing. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled at one week to remove any stitches or splints, as well as at one month and six months post-surgery to monitor your progress.

Back To Work (Recovery)

Rhinoplasty results are generally permanent and may take a few weeks to fully show as bruising and swelling go down. Most patients typically take about two weeks off from work, and it’s usually safe to resume exercise and gym activities after four weeks.
